FAQs

Our Products

Which fabrics do we use?

Silk

We use 22 Momme, 100% Mulberry silk of the highest possible grade (6A).

Bamboo

We use 400TC, 100% bamboo lyocell derived from pure bamboo pulp. Vegan, sustainable and cruelty free, this fabric is silky smooth, breathable and a delight to sleep in.

How are our fabrics treated?

Our fabrics are treated with antibacterial silver ions which act on bacteria in three ways:

1. forming pores and puncturing the bacterial cell wall

2. entering into the bacterial cell, inhibiting cellular respiration and disrupting metabolic pathways

3. disrupting bacterial DNA and its replication cycle [1]

These processes act to eliminate 99% of acne causing bacteria.*

How do our fabrics keep your skin clear?

Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) are two kinds of bacteria known to contribute to Acne vulgaris.[1][2] These bacteria can proliferate in pores, causing inflammation, infection and the formation of pus and pimples.[3]

Even after a single night's sleep, these bacteria can be found on your pillowcase. Our fabrics are treated with antibacterial silver ions which eliminate acne-causing bacteria helping to prevent it from affecting your skin, minimising the formation of pimples, blackheads and whiteheads.

What about silk?

Silk has beneficial qualities for skincare in its own right. It is:

- Hypoallergenic and naturally resistant to dust mites, fungi and other allergens

- Moisture wicking, meaning that it does not absorb moisture in the same way as other fabrics. This prevents bacteria and mould build up which can cause skin problems

- Temperature regulating, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter

- Smooth and soft on your skin, without problems other coarse pillows can cause
